Arati at the Mai Ram Yoga Ashram

Arati is a ritual of fire offering (Skr. ārātrika), sacred fire ceremony, which helps a person to focus on the Self and calm the mind in the morning and evening. Fire ceremony is performed with devotion and sincerity, so it is uplifting and leaves a trace of bliss. Each ashram of Nath yogis conducts a special Arati consecrated by the sampradaya (Skt. Sampradāya ‘lineage of teaching’), which has power and follows certain rules. Each ashram has a special place for this ritual, containing a picture of the Guru and consecrated yantras.
