The Mai Ram Yoga study programme begins with the main
Mai Ram Yoga Basic course.

On completing the study programme and passing the theoretical and practical examinations, a teacher of Mai Ram Yoga Basic has the right to teach the M.R.Y. Basic method and the M.R.Y. Open method.

Mai Ram Yoga Basic is a method intended for yoga practitioners and
yoga teachers or instructors who work at yoga centres, sports and health clubs, schools or other institutions.  
Mai Ram Yoga Basic method develops concentration, self-awareness, self-knowledge, helps to maintain control over the mind and body functions, facilitates adaptation to the ongoing changes in life and creates the right attitude towards the self and the life situations.
 
During the intensive course you will be taught the classical integrated Mai Ram Yoga, the classical yoga philosophy, the anatomy of yoga, basics of Sanskrit, M.R.Y. Open and Basic techniques of physical exercises (asanas) and breathing (pranayama), as well as relaxation and meditation practices.
The course consists of 160 academic hours.

A Basic level diploma of the MAI RAM INTERNATIONAL YOGA ASSOCIATION
will be awarded on completion of the course. After you pass an examination, a certificate will be awarded
that grants you the right to conduct yoga classes based on Mai Ram Yoga Basic/Open technique.

 Mai Ram Yoga Basic level teacher

 
Those who seek to become Mai Ram Yoga Basic teachers and who have completed the course are eligible to take the exams. On passing theoretical and practical examinations, the teacher receives:
 
· a diploma;
· a certificate that grants its holder the right to conduct yoga classes based on Mai Ram Yoga Basic Level and Mai Ram Yoga  Open Level techniques;
· a teacher’s guide which describes the essential yoga concepts for Basic Level yoga teachers;
· Mai Ram Yoga Basic Level practice techniques;
· Mai Ram Yoga Open Level practice techniques;
· a guide of yoga anatomy.

 Yoga Adhikari
(Skt. योग अधिकारी yoga adhikārī)
Advanced teacher entitled to spread the teaching of yoga
 
Yoga Adhikari is an advanced teacher:
  • Able to introduce and give an exact definition of the features of Mai Ram Yoga;
  • Able to pass on the teaching of Mai Ram Yoga to others, disclosing the knowledge and providing the correct initial understanding of yoga;
  • Able to give explanations and answer questions that require special knowledge of the yoga practice;
  • Devoting much time to qualitative self-analysis. 
 
Yoga Adhikari teacher is entitled to teach the introduction to Mai Ram Yoga as well as give lectures and workshops.

Yoga Advanced I asanas and pranayamas:
The teacher is entitled to teach the M.R.Y. Advanced I method.

Yoga Uttara Adhikari

Superior Yoga teacher

Yoga Uttara Adhikari is a skilled teacher:
  • Able to focus attention on the essence of the teaching of yoga;
  • Having deep knowledge of yoga acquired through practice;
  • Having an excellent understanding of the teaching of yoga.

On passing an examination, Yoga Uttara Adhikari can teach the introduction to Mai Ram Yoga, give lectures and workshops and conductMai Ram Yoga meditation practices.

 Yoga Acharya 
(Skt. योग आचार्य yoga ācārya
Spiritual Yoga teacher
 
Yoga Acharya is a teacher level indicating the properties and knowledge of a yoga expert and respective yogic qualities and abilities.
Yoga Acharya lives according to dharma and has the right to teach others the path of dharma. The teacher draws on experience and identifies deep causal relationships. 
 
Yoga Acharya can develop the teaching of yoga, teach the introduction to Mai Ram Yoga, give lectures and conduct Mai Ram Yoga meditation practices, satsangs and workshops.


Mai Ram Yoga Master asanas and pranayamas:
The teacher is entitled to teach the M.R.Y. Master method.

On completing an intensive pranayama course and passing an examination, the teacher acquires the right to conduct the M.R.Y. Pranayama I practice.

Yoga Uttara Adhikari

Mai Ram Yoga teacher training courses and retreats  

The purpose of yoga teacher courses and retreats is to introduce the principles and method of Mai Ram Yoga and deepen the knowledge and practice of teachers. 
   
The training programme of the preparatory courses and retreats for yoga teachers includes:
yoga philosophy and psychology, studies of yoga scriptures and Sanskrit, meditation, Karma Yoga andBhakti Yoga practices and training of asana and pranayama techniques.

M.R.I.Y.A. social activities, workshops and lectures

Certified teachers of Mai Ram Yoga are encouraged to give practical yoga classes, deliver lectures and reports on yoga and conduct workshops according to the Mai Ram Yoga method not only at the Mai Ram Yoga centres, studios, yoga houses or sports centres but also at other public organizations, events or conferences.  

In 2013-2014, the M.R.I.Y.A. together with the Vilnius City Municipality organized free yoga classes for the citizens of Vilnius.
